Doutorado em Geografia Física pela Universidade de Lisboa e coordenador do AntECC. Os seus interesses de investigação centram-se na geomorfodinâmica de ambientes polares e de montanha, em especial no quadro das Mudanças Globais. Colabora desde 1999 em projectos de investigação sobre permafrost na Antárctida.É membro do Steering Committee do projecto ANTPAS – Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic Permafrost, Soils and Periglacial Environments, um projecto do SCAR e da IPA que é também um CORE PROJECT do Ano Polar Internacional. É IP de projectos integrados no IPY project TSP - An International Network of Permafrost Observatories - Thermal State of Permafrost. É o contacto nacional para o Ano Polar Internacional 2007-08 e pertence ao Comité Português para o API. Participou em campanhas de investigação na Antárctida em 2000 e 2006 e tem coordenado as várias campanhas do AntECC.

PhD in Physical Geography at the University of Lisbon and coordinator of AntECC. His research interests focus in the geomorphodynamics of polar and mountain environments and the control of climate change. He collaborates since 1999 in research projects in the Antarctic.
Gonçalo is member of the Steering Committee of the IPY project ANTPAS - Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic Permafrost, Soils and Periglacial Environments, a project of SCAR and IPA. He is also the PI of research projects integrated in the IPY project TSP - An International Network of Permafrost Observatories - Thermal State of Permafrost.  He is the national representative at the European Polar Board, national contact for the International Polar Year and national representative of the International Permafrost Association.

Doutorado em Geografia Física pela Universidade de Lisboa e colabora no AntECC desde 2005. Os seus interesses de investigação centram-se na dinâmica geomorfológica de litorais rochosos. A sua colaboração no grupo tem como objectivo o apoio na instalação e manutenção de equipamentos de monitorização, bem como iniciar o estudo da dinâmica litoral na região da Península Antárctica.Participou na campanha antárctica espanhola de 2006-07, onde para além de continuar os trabalhos no âmbito do estudo do permafrost, instalou vários pontos de monitorização da erosão de plataformas rochosas, num trabalho inovador na Antárctida.

Doutorada em Geografia Física pela Universidade de Lisboa. Os seus interesses de investigação centram-se no estudo dos climas de montanha, em especial à escala local. Colabora no AntECC desde 2005 no estudo das relações entre clima e permafrost, e está a trabalhar no âmbito dos climas locais das Ilhas das Antárctida Marítima.

PhD in Physical Geography at the University of Lisbon. Her research interests focus on mountain climatology. Carla collaborates with AntECC since 2005 in the study of the relationships between climate and permafrost, and is studying the local climates of the South Shetlands (Maritime Antarctic).

Licenciado em Geografia (variante de Geografia Física e Ordenamento do Território) pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, e estudante de Mestrado em Geografia (Especialização em Geografia Física, Recursos e Riscos Naturais). Está a preparar uma dissertação de mestrado sob o tema “Balanço Radiativo e Regime Térmico do Solo na Península Hurd (Ilha Livingston, Antárctida)”. Participou na campanha antárctica de 2006-07 na Ilha Livingston, integrando a Expedição Antárctica Búlgara nos meses de Dezembro e Janeiro. O Alexandre é membro da Permafrost Young Researchers Network (PYRN) e da Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS).O Alexandre vai participar na campanha antárctica Búlgara na Ilha Livingston em Janeiro de 2008.

Graduated in Physical Geography at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon and at the moment he is a Master student in Geography (Speciality in Physical Geography, Resources and Natural Hazard). He is preparing his masters thesis on “Radiation Balance and Thermal Regime of the Ground in the Hurd Peninsula (Livingston Island, Antarctica)”. He participated in the Antarctic campaign of 2006-07 in Livingston Island, integrated in the Bulgarian Antarctic Expedition in the months of December and January. Alexandre is a member of the Permafrost Young Researchers Network (PYRN) and of the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS). Alexandre is participating in the Bulgarian Antarctic campaign in Livingston Island in January of 2008.

Licenciada em Meteorologia Oceanografia e Geofísica (Variante Meteorologia) na Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa e estudante de mestrado em Ciências Geofísicas (variante Meteorologia) na mesma universidade. Colabora no AntECC desde Agosto de 2008 no estudo das relações entre clima e permafrost, e está a trabalhar no âmbito da modelação de mesoscala e downscalling para as ilhas Shetland do Sul (Antárctica).

Graduated in Meteorology, Oceanography and Geophysics (specialized Meteorology) and Masters student in Geophysics Sciences at the University of Lisbon. Collaborates with AntECC since August 2008 in the study of the relationships between climate and permafrost, and is studying the mesoscale modeling and downscaling of the South Shetlands (Antarctic).

Licenciada em Geografia (Variante de Cartografia e SIG) na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa e estudante de mestrado em Geografia Física e Ordenamento do Território na mesma universidade. Está a preparar uma tese de mestrado sobre a dinâmica geomorfológica actual na Ilha Deception, com especial enfase na influência das alterações climáticas na dinâmica do permafrost. É a representante portuguesa na Permafrost Young Researchers Network. A Raquel vai participar na campanha antárctica argentina na Ilha Deception em Dezembro de 2007.

Graduated in Geography (specialized in Cartography and GIS) and Masters student in Physical Geography at the University of Lisbon. She’s preparing her master thesis regarding Deception Island’s current geomorphological dynamics, with particular attention to the effects of climate change on permafrost dynamics. She’s the portuguese representative at the Permafrost Young Researchers Network. Raquel will participate in the Argentinean Antarctic Campaign at Deception Island in December 2007.

Está a preparar uma dissertação de mestrado sob o tema “Distribuição espacial e evolução temporal do permafrost na Ilha Deception (Ilhas Shetlands do Sul, Península Antárctida)”. A Vanessa vai participar na campanha antárctica espanhola na Ilhas Deception e Livingston em Janeiro e Fevereiro de 2008.

Vanessa has a degree in Applied and Environmental Geology by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, and is  Masters student in Geography (Specialization in Physical Geography, Natural Resources and Risks). She is preparing a master's dissertation on the "Characterization and spatial distribution of permafrost in Livingston and Deception Islands (South Shetlands Islands, Antarctic Peninsula)." Vanessa will participate in the Antarctic campaign of 2007-08 in Livingston and Deception Islands.
